SCULPTURE
Our sculpture restoration varies across a wide range of materials ranging from 2200BC all the way through to the new and contemporary. Our expansive range of specialist conservators are often collaborating together to work with the variety of mixed media and unusual materials that come through our doors.
We can restore artwork of many different mediums including wood, plaster, alabaster, marble, resin and jade.
A little retouching for 2 sculptures by Anthony Gormley by our ceramic and sculpture conservator Matilda.
Wooden Abstract Sculpture by Brian Willsher, 1973
This wooden sculpture has been joined back together. Cracks have then been colour filled to match the existing teak wood
Valdivian Stone Owl, circa. 2200BC
Part of a collection with Paul Hughes Fine Arts, this owl has had a very gentle clean. An old discoloured repair in the centre has been removed and adjusted with conservation materials for a more aesthetically pleasing repair.
10th Century Indian Stone Figure
We had 4 of these figures, in many pieces. They have been joined with an appropriate adhesive for stone. All the joins and losses have been filled and colour matched
Restoration of an Edge Sculpture of a Bull Terrier
This resin sculpture has been joined back together with internal pins in the heavier areas. It was quite a puzzle to piece back together. The joins have been filled and retouched to match the existing surface.
